But why is it difficult particularly for traumatised people to actually thrive? Why and what stops us from becoming successful? It feels like we have one foot on the accelerator and the other one firmly stepping on the brake. As if a part of us is actually fearful of flourishing, something is holding us back, stopping us from becoming all we can be, hiding us in the shadows afraid to be who we truly are.
Because what might happen if we were truly out there? Thriving and successful whatever that word success means to us? If we did flourish and grow and prosper and step into our full power what would might happen in our lives? In our work? Our relationships? Our friends? Our families?
To me thriving is dangerous to the nervous system on some level? It’s been conditioned in to us not to be too good, to put your head above the parapet, to do well or to speak out. In our development somewhere it wasn’t ok to do well? We were shut down for having an opinion or a voice or some of us were scolded for shining. Bullied, rejected or shamed. We think it’s dangerous to be too good because people won’t like you and they will certainly abandon you. It’s like our younger selves are frozen back in time. We need to go back and reclaim those little ones. They need showing how success and thriving need not be in any way as threatening or terrifying as they think.
Let me categorically state thriving or success is not simply about accruing wealth financially. People can be billionaires and still be living in fear, waking up with dread or depression and not be “thriving” in the sense of the word I mean.
is about all parts of your life feeling expansive, flowing and far less fearless. Where you are able to pursue your dreams and do what you want in the world and enjoy each day. Living from a place of harmony and joy and peace and not from a place of stress, fear, overwhelmed, sadness and chaos.
Does that sound like a place you’d like to be?
Well, stay with me a moment longer just to hear the steps I’ve developed from the route I’ve taken to go from victim to survivor to thriver in my own trauma treatment voyage. I believe these steps will also massively help you on your path to becoming a Trauma Thriver? And hopefully by learning from someone who’s walked the path before you, who’s not only got personal experience but who also has 20 years of solid, professional therapy training and experience behind her and who understands about trauma, spirituality, addiction and recovery and other healing modalities too. I’ve got all the necessary credentials to assist you and hopefully take years off your healing journey and learning too!
